Homework Happenings for Thursday, Sept. 27th

Study for DOL test. If you didn't make 100% on pretest (spelling city), study for the spelling test. Social Studies: Because we were not prepared for the test (many didn't study the study guide), we have put the test off until tomorrow. Today, we reviewed vocabulary words and went over key points. Study tonight!! Have a wonderful, restful Fall Break!! When we come back, we have one more week until the end of the 9 weeks. That means AR cutoff! Please read and be ready to take tests when we return!!

Math: Review large addition problems for test tomorrow! Reading: Read "Wolf!" at home and have adult sign reading log. Answer questions (1-5) on pg. 205 Social Studies: ***We are sending home an interview sheet for your child to complete BY FRIDAY that describes the way our communities were "in the olden days"! Please encourage your child to choose a relative or neighbor they can interview to get some interesting facts about our community!

Spelling: Write spelling words 3 times each on paper Math: Complete Chapter Review (p. 91) in math journal. Test is on Wednesday! Reading: Practice O WB 45-46 Social Studies: I am sending home the study guide for Chpt 1 today. The test is Thursday. Begin reviewing NOW! BLOG BUSTER: What is the oldest relative you have still living? Are they a citizen of Paducah? What history can they tell you about this area?

Homework Happenings for Thursday, Sept 20

Study for spelling and DOL test tomorrow! Math: Addition with regrouping WB 52-54. We are ON FIRE with this chapter, so look for a test probably next Wednesday or Thursday.....:) Continue with practice in addition/subtraction facts. GREAT math website for math practice: www.ixl.com/signin/mcps Your child may go to this anytime for extra practice in third grade math skills. They have their password/username copied in their agenda. For now, they will need to go to "third grade" and "addition". They can send me their progress by email, and we will reward that!! Tomorrow, we will be putting on our play "The Strongest One" for our Kindergarten students. Please remember to wear your color appropriate shirts for your role! Your child is sooooo excited! We have pen pals from my daughter's school in Lexington. We have been working on our rough draft of our friendly letters. Can you please take a look at these to check for spelling mistakes? We will recopy these tomorrow to send. They are in their DOL composition book.
