We are learning about inherited traits in science. We have talked about how we are similar in traits to our parents, and we want to conduct a little experiment. Please send in a photo of your child's parent as a young person (close to your child's age). We will all share these and see if we can guess which parent belongs to which student!
Math: we took the chpt 6 test today; the cutoff for multiplication timed tests is this Friday. We will have our ice cream celebration next week!

We had an awesome first day at HLOE today. Your child is bringing home a fun "get to know you" homework assignment tonight. Please help them to find 3 items to fill the paper sack that will help describe them. You may want to share about your family, favorite pet, hobby or other favorites! Please only one photograph! You may cut out a picture of an item if it is too large to fill your bag ( bike, bat/ball, etc). We will share these tomorrow. Don't worry; we will get the items home as soon as they are shared. It may take on into MOnday.

K-Prep Testing is over! Yeah!!!
You would be soooo proud of your children. They worked hard and stayed with the program all week. That is why we are celebrating tomorrow with "Dress Like Rock Star" Day! Your child may wear anything (must be appropriate) that would say "ROck Star" i.e. favorite rock t shirt, spiked hair, jewelry, black clothing, hat gear. We will be celebrating with a special assembly in the afternoon.
Tonight, your child may have some homework. They should be finished with their Magic Tree House Book Study. If not, they will be bringing home the book to finish reading. Tomorrow, they will finish up their folders and take the AR test. We will put finishing touches on their project they will be presenting next week. We have discussed lots of good ideas, and have plenty of supplies for them to use (poster board, construction paper, cardstock paper, markers, colors, etc).

We are testing on Mon.-Thur. all morning, so please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.
We are continuing to read and work on our Magic Tree House book and projects. YOur child may bring home a poster board, construction paper, etc to work on a presentation for their book.
