Homework Happenings for Monday, December 12th

Busy week here at HLOE! Our only homework is:

Complete the Hidden Word search for the Native American Vocabulary words. We will exchange papers and complete for tomorrow.

Math: some students will be bringing home their Chpt 7 test to correct for a higher grade. Make sure to have your parents to sign the test! It must be brought back on Tuesday to count the higher grade.

We are continuing to present our projects. The students are doing a great job of not only showing off what they created, but also telling us all about their tribe! We will finish these up this week. Parents, you may come by and pick up your child's project anytime after Thursday. If you are coming to our parties Friday afternoon, that will be a great time to get them.

Don't forget about our family in need that we are providing Christmas for. Please bring in gifts or cash for us to purchase things for them. The third grade teachers will be shopping for our family after school on Thursday.

I am trying something new this year for our Holiday gift giving....Instead of my students buying something for me for Christmas, I have put out "Wreath Wishes" on my tree. These wreathes contain an item that we need in our classroom for the next semester. If you want to purchase and wrap these up, we will open them during our Christmas party on Friday. These gifts will be able to be shared by the whole classroom!

Here are some Native American presenters and a picture from our Morningside visit on Friday.

Homework Happenings for Wednesday, May 18th

Science:  Study your 21 vocabulary words and simple machines for our LAST test over Chapter 11 in your       science!

Thanks to ALL my students for my wonderful Teacher Appreciation gift you presented to me today.  I can't wait to pamper myself with a gift certificate for a free manicure and pedicure (we learned some new words today !).  I plan on going right before taking off for the beach later this summer. Also, the memory book, filled with class event pictures was so thoughful.  We all have enjoyed looking through it!  Thanks again, for the BEST students and parents ever!  You have made my year a true joy!!
P.S.  The luncheon was excellent and so tasty.  Thanks to all our moms for making that possible.

Tomorrow is our On Demand Celebration (we sure are celebrating a lot these days, aren't we?).  We will meet, as a school, outside to "show off" our writing.

Friday is Field Day.  Remember to dress comfortably, with caps, sunglasses and sunscreen.  We are adding tennis this year as an event.

Testing is Over!!!!

Yeah!!!! We are finally finished with our testing for third grade!   Tomorrow, we are on our way to Mike Miller Park for a day of playing and celebrating!

Because we may have a chance of rain, we are asking students to come prepared with sunglasses, tennis shoes etc for playing outside.  Also, bring any board/card games you may want in case of rain.  We will get under the pavillion and play games.

Parents, if you are also going, you may meet us here and follow the buses, or just drive up and meet us there.
