Reading: Read "Whose Habitat is it?" Sign reading log. WB 16-17 over main idea. ****Parents, don't forget tonight is "Back to School Night" at HLOE! Please meet in the gym at 6:00 for introductions and news from our PTO. We will then meet as a third grade team with all our parents in the library to go over third grade news.****

Tuesday, August 19th

Math: Complete Math WB 13-14. We started this (comparing nos) in class together. We are looking at taking the math test probably Thursday. Reading: Read "Dear Juno" at home with an adult. Be sure to sign the story reading log AFTER you have heard your child read! COmplete the reading comprehension WS. **Don't forget that we have a parent meeting this evening at 6:00 to discuss the Frankfort trip we take in the Spring. This will be a time you can pay fees, ask questions and sign up if you wish to be chaperone. Please try to be here!**

Tuesday, August 12th

Reading: Your child needs to read our first reading selection "First Day Jitters" tonight with an adult. They also will need to have you sign their reading log showing that you read the story. Tomorrow we will take the AR test in the computer lab. Your child may also need to finish up their story map from the story.

Only one HW assignment this evening. We are writing sentences with our spelling words. Your child may use one or two spelling words for each sentence. Be sure your sentences make sense and contain correct capitalization and punctuation marks! Also, we have gone over our third grade Learning Check (homework) Policy in class today. I have asked them to read it over with your this evening, sign it and bring back the bottom signed. Thank you!

Wednesday, August 6th

Good Afternoon, Parents and 3rd grade students!! We had an awesome first day at HLOE today. Your child is bringing home a fun "get to know you" homework assignment tonight. Please help them to find 3 items to fill the paper sack that will help describe them. You may want to share about your family, favorite pet, hobby or other favorites! Please only one photograph! You may cut out a picture of an item if it is too large to fill your bag ( bike, bat/ball, etc). We will share these tomorrow. Don't worry; we will get the items home as soon as they are shared. It may take on into MOnday. I sent some paperwork home for some of you if I need a signature.
