Homework Happenings for Thursday, Nov. 29th

Study Spelling and DOL sentences for tests. Study for multiplication timed tests. We have some friends who are working "above and beyond" on their facts! They are taking their ten facts. Yoo Hoo!! Remember that the deadline for earning ice cream sundae "ingredients" is next Friday. Tonight is Family Movie Night @ 6:00pm. Come dressed in your pajamas to enjoy a movie and popcorn! Book Store will also be open from 4:00-6:00 for shopping. Many of your children are missing crayons/colored pencils and scissors. We use these on many of our Social Studies assignments i.e.map and globe skills. Please replace any of these items for your child so they can be prepared at school.

Homework Happenings for Tuesday, Nov. 27th

Math: Write x9 facts 5 times each on paper. Timed test tomorrow! Deadline to take ALL tests is next Friday, Dec. 7th!! Reading: Read "Saving the Sand Dunes" with an adult. Complete trifold, using complete sentences!!! Social Studies: "First Communities" WB 55 only! ****Don't forget to choose your Native American project tribe and bring back the bottom of your letter, with a parent signature! Deadline for the at home project is Dec. 17th.

Math: WB 107-108; study for x8 timed test (or the multiplication tables you are working on) Spelling: Copy spelling words 3 times each on paper Reading: Practice O WB89-90 ****Ice Cream Sundae Party**** We will be celebrating our multiplication facts on Friday, Dec. 7th with our ice cream sundae party!! Parents, we could use some help serving up our delicious reward, so if you can help, email me. We will probably start around 2:30.

Homework Happenings for Monday, November 19th

Language/Social Studies: Recopy your Indian Legend on regular notebook paper. You may illustrate if you wish! Math: Tomorrow is "ketchup day" with our timed tests. If you are behind, you may retake a test. We will start the 8 facts when we return next week. NO spelling list, DOL, reading story or grammar this week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. Enjoy your time with your family (don't eat too much)!

Homework Happenings for Thursday, Nov. 15th

Study for DOL/Spelling test tomorrow! Math: 7 facts WB 101-104 We will probably wait until Monday to take this timed test, in order to get some students caught up. If your child has not passed 4s, 5s, or 6s, PLEASE study with them so they can retake the quiz!! Grammar: Present tense verbs WB 75-76 Science: Continue to go over the study guide with your child. Our Chpt 4 test will be on Monday. ****BLOG BUSTER**** We have been learning about various geometric shapes and their names. We have identified 6, 7, and 8 sided figures. Can you do some research to find the names of a 10-sided geometric shape? How about 12 sides?? Any others? Parent Help???? We will be needing some parents to help with our ice cream/banana split celebration coming up in early December. We will supply the sweet ingredients; we just need some help scooping it up! If you are willing to come and help out,just email me and let me know. Thanks!!

Tuesday, November 13th

Math: Complete WB 99-100 Continue to study your facts! We have a "day off" from timed tests tomorrow in order to get folks caught up. Our next test will be on Thursday over the 6 facts. Study them EVERY NIGHT!! Reading: Read "One Riddle, One Answer" with an adult. Complete trifold, using complete sentences Science: Complete Lesson 2 fact WS. Science test will be on Monday!

Math: Study the 5 multiplication facts. Timed test tomorrow.** Spelling: write spelling words 3 times each on paper. Reading: Practice O WB 81-82 Science: Chapter 4: "Living THings Change their Enviroment" Lesson 1 WS 1-20 **Remember to keep up the work on memorizing those multiplication facts! You may use IXL, Facts in a Flash, or multiplication.com on your computer for practice; or you may just use flash cards. We will be covering the 5s, 6s, and 7s this week. We want to make that awesome ice cream banana split!!**

Please review with your child each night as we check for speed and accuracy with our 60 sec. tests. Don't forget to go to www.multiplication.com to have fun reviewing! Science: Adaptations WB 57-58 Tomorrow, we will be celebrating Veteran's Day at LOHS, starting at 9:00. We will hear speakers, listen to patriotic music and meet some real live local veterans! ****BLOG BUSTER***** Research some unusual animals with adaptations. Bring in pictures/information that you find to share with the class!

Homework Happenings for Wednesday, Nov. 7th

Welcome back after our 4-day weekend!! Math: Even though it is not a homework night, we are beginning our multiplication times tests! Tomorrow, your child will be tested over the 3 facts. They will take a 60-sec, test over the three facts, 0-9. Today, we looked for patterns and practiced a song to help them remember. (Have them hum it!). Please review them on accuracy and speed. Then, we will move on to the 4 facts. You may visit multiplication.com website to see some neat, fun ways to review these facts! Also, IXL will have some practice also. Science: Be sure to finish up your ecosystem poster.
