Because you and your child may be out trick or treating tonight, we have tried to keep the HW to a minimum! Many students have completed work at school. Math: study your multiplication facts: 2 facts or 5 facts, depending on which ones he/she has passed Study DOL and spelling Grammar WB 69-70 (Many finished at school)

Tuesday, October 29th

Sorry that we had no posts for Thursday or Monday nights. I have been out celebrating the marriage of my son! I'm back and things should be back to normal :) Reading: Read "Stone Soup" with an adult and sign reading log. Complete trifold Science: Study for chpt 2 test! ***We are beginning our chapter in math on multiplication. I'll be sending home some blank flash cards for the friends who need extra help with facts. Please help your child to make cards and study with them!!***

Tuesday, October 22nd

Reading: Read "Author: A True Story" with a parent. Sign NEW reading log! Complete the trifold. Because we have our Morningside visit today, our morning work (spelling WS) can be completed at home if not finished at school.

Monday, October 21

Spelling: Guide words WS Math: We took our test over subtraction today; no HW ***Today was the AR Reward field trip***** Tomorrow we will be visiting our friends at Morningside. They are decorating Halloween cupcakes and are planning some games for us! Don't forget that the Books Alive Parade is Friday, October 25. Your child may dress as their favorite book character. Don't forget to bring a copy of the book! Fall Parties are at 1:30, with the Parade at 2:00

Thursday, October 17th

NO spelling or DOL test tomorrow due to AG Day!! Reading: Complete reading assessment on "Planets in our Solar System" Math: Chapter Review p. 116 (1-11) The test will be on Monday. You may work on the review through the weekend. I'm still needing one parent volunteer to meet us at Carson Park tomorrow with some old sheets/blankets that we can use for our picnic lunch. We will eating around 11:15. Come and join us for an informative day!

Tuesday, October 15th

Math: Subtraction with large nos. WB 65-66 Reading: Read "Planets in the Solar System" sign reading log; complete trifold FIELD TRIP!! Friday we will be spending the day at Carson Park for third grade AG Day. Remind your child to dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. We will be outside!

Monday, October 14th

Spelling: Put words in ABC order and write three times each (we started this together!) Math: P. 106 in textbook (1-6) Copy problems in your math notebook Science: Finish up seed diagram, color ****We extended the AR deadline to this Wednesday at 3:30! Hopefully, this will give some friends a chance to get those last tests taken!***

Study spelling words and DOL sentences Reading: complete reading review Writing: Copy your rough draft of your personal narrative. Be sure to add a zippy title!

Wednesday, October 2nd

Usually not a homework night; we have a science test to study for tonight. Please study the study guide for tomorrow. Don't forget to keep those Frankfort payments coming in! We would like to have at least 50%of the payment ($30) in by the end of October.

Math: Subtraction w/o regrouping WB 51-52 Reading: Read "What's in Store for the Future?" and complete practice O WB 53 (fact/opinion) Science: We are beginning our flip books on "5 Types of Vertebrates". You may help your child at home to research different types of animals that they may want to include in their booklet. Science test on Thursday!
