Math: Bar modeling WB 163-164 Reading: Read "Here's My Dollar" and have parent sign reading log. Complete trifold. BOG BUSTER: Yesterday, we discussed that without soil there would be fewer medicines. Research a medicine that people get from plants. Where does this plant grow? What is the job of this drug (what does it treat)?

Spelling: Draw pictures to go with your spelling words this week. We are studying homophones and will need to know the meanings of each word! Reading: Practice O WB 133/134 Science: Finish up decorating your pet rock at home! We will share in class on Tuesday.

Homework Happenings for Friday, Jan. 18th

I normally do not post any assignments for Friday; however, we will have our math test on Tuesday, Jan. 23rd .. Your child will have the Chpt Review (pp. 238-239) to complete as their study guide. Please go over long division problems with them using this as a guide! ALso, we will be going to Morningside on Tuesday @ 2:00. We are planning on having a "Game Day" with our friends. We will take some of our games, along with playing some of their favorites!! Have a great long weekend!

Because of our SNOW DAY yesterday, we have some changes in our schedule..... Spelling: study for test (no spelling city this week) Language: Study for DOL test Math: Long division with remainders complete WB 155. The test for tomorrow is rescheduled for next Tuesday, Jan. 22nd. Science: Study for Chpt 5 test. Make sure your 16 vocabulary definitions are also completed and ready to turn in! Study your definitions and study guide.

Continue to work on spelling activities in Tic Tac toe. They are all due on Friday. Be sure to staple ALL work to the cover sheet when returning! Reading: Read "Seven Spools of Thread" with an adult. Have them sign reading log. Finish trifold. Continue to study your study guide in science. Test is Thursday! **Don't forget to work on IXL at home! We are wanting to beat Mr. Thompson by racking up more problems than him!!! **** BLOG BUSTER: Today in Science , we are going to learn about some famous marble statues in Greece that are being damaged by acid erosion. Can you name a city in the U.S. where this might also be a problem (HINT: lots of marble statues/memorials)?

Math: We are working on long division this week. Complete WS 119-120. We are planning on the Chpt 8 test on Friday. Spelling: No specific assignment tonight. We are working on "Tic Tac Toe" this week, where the students choose their own activities to complete. They have until Friday to finish all 3 activities. We will work on this in the morning also. Reading: Practice O WB 119 Science: WB 95-96 over Lesson 3 vocabulary; test will be on Thursday.

Reading: Read "Cook-A-Doodle-Doo" with a parent/adult. Sign reading log. Complete story organizer Science: Vocabulary WB 83-84 USE GLOSSARY!! We have new AR goals for the 3rd nine weeks. Please encourage your child to read at home every night. That will help greatly with taking AR tests at school! Report cards go home on Wednesday. We will be holding cards for students who have not paid lunch charges and also those who have overdue books. Please make sure that your child has taken care of these items! BLOG BUSTER: News FLash!! The International Hydrographic Organization has determined that we now have 5, not 4 major oceans. Do some research and find out the name of this ocean and where it is located.

We are on our regular schedule this week; spelling, DOLs, reading story and science! Spelling: Write spelling words 3 times each in print OR 2 times each in cursive if you wish.
